The Walk
Explore on foot the unspoilt quintessential countryside of West Dorset in South-West England. Link selected award-winning traditional country Inns by hiking through glorious countryside with an experienced local guide who knows the area extremely well. Indulge in the flavours of Dorset each evening in front of a roaring fire at your Inn before spending the night in comfortable and characterful en-suite accommodation.
Your arrival and departure town is Sherborne, one of the most beautiful towns in England. Sherborne is a 2 hour direct train ride from Waterloo Station in London. Marvel at the splendour of Sherborne Abbey and enjoy strolling through the town before embarking on your hike.
For the next 3 days you will walk through some of the most stunning chalk upland and around coombs that have remained unchanged over 100s of years of sheep farming. Points of interest include the Cerne Abbas Giant, the lost village of Lyscombe and the mysterious Dorsetshire gap.
Either a traditional pub lunch or picnic will be provided for you each day and you will be accompanied and looked after by local professional guides who have a wealth of trek guiding experience in addition to an in-depth knowledge of the area. There is no need to worry about your bags as these will be seamlessly moved on for you each day to your next night’s accommodation.
